NRD Reading List | State of Rural Canada Report

This past September the Canadian Rural Revitalization Foundation (CRRF) and the RPLC released the ‘State of Rural Canada’ report. This publication highlights current challenges and opportunities for rural development. Province-specific chapters focus on trends in each province and territory and are authored by regional experts. This report is a great primer for policy-makers and organizations looking to better understand and work with rural regions and concludes with a discussion chapter synthesizing the core themes and a providing series of recommendations for advancing rural development.
In the provincial and territorial chapters, attention is given to natural resources issues. This information is useful for practitioners engaged in work at the community level and researchers interested in making inter-provincial comparisons around natural resource issues.
