Imagining Canada’s Future

Dr. Ted Hewitt, President of Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC), celebrates Rural Policy Learning Common’s new engagement card with Dr. Bill Ashton.  Ted opened the national forum: Imagining Canada’s Future in Ottawa Canada.  Ted quoted Albert Einstein: logic gets you from A to B, imagination gets you everywhere.
Later in the day Bill provided highlights of a recent study on the use of big data sets in research on immigration. This work adds to a well-established strategic research direction at RDI.  Bill thanked both the co-investigator Dr. Lori Wilkinson, University of Manitoba, chair of the Immigration Research West, and the project lead, Helen Galatsanou, from RDI.
