Newly hired Engagement Liaison, Aimee Couselan, is excited to put her years of communication and marketing experience to use – helping advance knowledge of rural research and rural policy. Working out of the Rural Development Institute (RDI) at Brandon University, Aimee’s new role will help promote some of RDI’s rural research projects and engage with rural-minded individuals in the Westman region and beyond.
Aimee has a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Mass Communications from York University and a diploma in Audio Visual Multimedia Production from Seneca College in the urban outreaches of Toronto – but don’t hold that against her! She grew up on an acreage just outside the Wheat City, in the foothills of Kemney, Manitoba. Aimee has worked in publishing, for CBC’s radio and digital archive divisions, and for Brandon University’s Eckhardt-Gramatte National Music Competition. As well, she’s on the boards of Inclusion Westman and the Westman Autism Parent Support Group and on the organizing committe of the Legion National Youth Track and Field Championships.
