Immigration in Small Towns

Alia Dharssi’s series, Workers Without Borders, is a six-part series revealing a growing population of undocumented immigrants; businesses country-wide, in both urban and rural areas, struggling to access desperately-needed labour; and poor integration of immigrants into the job market – all of which results in billions of dollars in losses to the economy each year.

With the Canadian government set to reform the Temporary Foreign Worker Program within the next three months, increase annual immigration levels in 2017, and overhaul other aspects of the immigration system, Canada is at a crossroads when it comes to immigration policy.
